O se avanoa lelei mo se faiaoga na te faatauaina le manuia o fanau a Samoa mo a taeao.

We have a position for a faiaoga to join our Samoan Bilingual Unit, O Lou Ala i Mālō from the beginning of 2022 (or possibly earlier).  We are looking for a faiaoga who believes that our fanau deserve the best and will strive to fulfill this commitment through fa’asamoa - developing in our children a strong identity, cultural knowledge and bilingual literacy.  Fluency in Samoan and English is essential with a sound understanding of New Zealand Curriculum, bilingual pedagogies and formative assessment practices. This faiaoga will be able to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, aiga and fanau. The ability to integrate digital technology and be innovative in their approach to teaching and learning, or a willingness to complete Mind Lab.  Please state strengths, experiences and preferred teaching level in your application.

Our school's strategic priorities are Cultural Sustainability (including normalizing Te Ao Māori), Whānau Engagement, Student Agency (with a focus on Formative Assessment) and Student and Staff Wellbeing.

In your covering letter please describe your teaching and curriculum strengths in relation to teaching in a Samoan Bilingual programme, our priorities, and your experience supporting the growth of others through coaching and mentoring.

School visits welcomed once back at Alert Level 2.

All positions attract the PTSA (Priority Teacher Supply Allowance).
